  • Is PgMP harder than PMP?

As one progresses from the level of Project-Program-Portfolio Management, the PMP certification serves as a foundation for other certifications such as Program Management and Portfolio Management. PgMP is one of the most difficult exams in the Management Certification sphere, and it assesses a program manager's abilities on the job.

  • Is PMP a prerequisite for PgMP?

No. To be eligible for a PgMP® certificate, one must have sufficient program management experience (in accordance to the PMI® definition of "Program").

  • How difficult is PgMP certification?

Certified experts rate the PgMP Exam as having a substantially greater difficulty level than the PMP Exam. This PgMP Exam/Test has a relatively high failure rate.
